I,m thinkning about getting a sport quad and want a 4stroke and revers I have got it down to a DS650 or a raptor660. I think thoes are the 2 biggest 4stroke sport quads made? but I need help picking one. I am a VERY large person and have heard that the raptor might be the wrong chois, what do you think? I know the rap has 10cc,s over the DS but does it make that much differance? does the DS have reverse? Is there any mods for the DS that I could do to it so no one arround can tuch me? I know there are mods for the raptor because I have 3 cousions and they all have 02 models but are stock and I want something that will beat them. My 87 250 foretrax just wont do it. I,m also gonna buy a prairie650 and have heard it will give them a run but wont beat them so thats why I'm gonna buy a sport quad too. Any advise will be grate.

 

well if you want to mod it, go with the raptor. There's a TON of stuff out there, limited only by the size of your wallet.

 

the ds dosnt have reverse but thats what i would pick out of the 2 the ds is faster and better for bigger guys much more roomy

 

Definetly go with the ds if you are a bigger guy. The Raptors are fun to ride and they do have alot of mods but if you don't feel comfortable riding it it doesen't make a difference. My friend has a Raptor and although his loves the machine he is kind of limited because he weighs to much for it. In the end just go with what your most comfortable in.

 

Take a look at the new Kawasaki V Force 700 (It has Reverse). There is plenty of information about it on this forum. They will be available end of Feb. 1st of March.

 

well if you go trail riding on the ds 650 and need reverse u will get a sweat from pushing it......plus it ways more then the raptor.the raptor is alot lighter and mine has been running great but watch your stock air filter mine didn't fit right so it just sat there and pretty much my quad sucked in alot of dirt.

Reverse is for people that cant whip a $hitty. VERY seldome on the trail have I needed reverse. Hey, if your a big guy pushing the DS will be easy. There ARE parts for the DS. The DS wakes UP to parts big time [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Yea i think that the DS has better mod potental if you got the $$$... The suspension is plush with plenty of travle... If you just want to do the bolt on's i would say get a raptor, but if you want to spend anywhere from 3 or 4 grand up i would say a DS...

Not saying it's the Best just another option. Otherwise for a guy your size, a DS is worth looking at.

Unless you go with a 45 mm carb and intake 500 your fine until you get into pistons and cams all of witch are about $1000 total..
