knowing dirt wheels they will find a way to make the kfx win since its new but i would have to say the raptor would be far more competitive than the heavy auto....ive never seen them race and i have never ridden a kfx just my thoughts....ShWo

I don't know a lot about Rappy's, but what I know about the p650, knowing the 700 will be quicker and faster. My money will be on the kfx700 straight out of the box, I don't think Kawasaki would introduce a new bike to be second to anyone.
there is more mods for the Rappy, so there will be lots of rappy's that will beat it until the mods are out for the 700, then any mods you can times 2 (2x) for the twin. Within two years the 700 will be making some serious HP.
I could be wrong, but I'll bet the 700 will be there with the best of them.

What most people don't understand is that a tuned auto is a big advantage in a drag race. Just like a car you can set up different stall speeds, plus when its tuned right its always in the correct RPM range.

Every quad magazine seems to have been enamored with the Raptor, ever since its introduction. It's possible that the same thing will happen with the new KFX700, but I doubt it. I think the new Kawasaki is gonna' be great, but I don't think Dirt Wheels will like it very much at all. We'll have to wait and see. And hey, don't forget to include the mighty DS in these conversations about the big boys. Bombardier is definitely a player in the war for for four-stroke supremacy!
This is an exciting time for all sport quad enthusiasts. I can't wait to see what's next in the current "Can you top this!" state of ATV R&D!

Forget the belt issue, every snowmobile has a lot more horse power than the 700 will ever have and they don't have problems. Yes they are a wear item.
The 700 auto will be quick, there are lots of improvement that can be made to an auto. I know that Mike Penland ask one of the kids pulling with us to send his clutch to him, so he could copy it on the 700 he will be racing, so they are already making improvements. Its a pretty good feeling, when a pro racer is copying changes.

I was just on a website (sportquad.com OR offroad.com cant remember) and they tested the kfx700 and on a 200 mater drag the rappy LOST to the kfx700 by .2 of a second. Its longer and wider than the rapcrap. the 700 only compotition will be the ds650.
