Default Which paddle tires

My buddy just bought his son a 250ex. He is wanting to get some paddle tires for it. What would be the best thing to get? He and I don't have the slightest idea where to begin. Thanks in advance for your replies.

i would suggest a 7 or an 8 paddle hauler. 20x10x10 seems to be the best all around tire. if it's got mods go with the 8 for sure. the straight cut hauler has always been a good tire for me.

I knnow that my friends 300ex with a big bore kit runs better with 6 paddles than 7, so I would definetly stay away from any 8 paddles. Look into the Skat Trak Glider 6 paddle. Less paddles will allow the motor to spin and get into the right RPM's to produce some torque. Try RockymountinATV.com Good Luck.

There is now way that a 250ex needs more than 6 paddle haulers or gliders. 8 is way way to many and 7 is way to many to. Put it this way 8 paddle haulers are for raptors and big bore quads which are putting out any where from 35-65 hp. 7 paddle haulers work great for a 400ex or a z400 which put out around 30 (piped). Now a 250ex puts out around 12hp. I know someone who has 8 paddle haulers on a 250ex and they suck ALL of the power that it puts out and it takes forever to take off. Trust me get the 6 paddle gliders or haulers. JMO

Agreed - put too much paddle on that 250ex and you will be hating life.

I bought the sand geckos for my Raptor and they did good. They got me around and also draged with them. At the time I needed a cheap tire when I went to glamis. I've never tried any others and I'm sure there are better ones out there for the money.

The sand devils seem to be a good sand tire.
They don't hook up as much as the haulers, but do tend to float pretty well.

Don't know if they are too much for the 250EX or not, but they are pretty inexpensive.
