Default Parts that interchange between 86 and 87+ LT250r

I have an 86 LT250R quadracer and I sometimes here that certain parts will interchange from the 87 and later lt250r, and then turn around and hear that they won't. I beleive that the 87 swingarm will fit on the 86 and I have heard that the axel from an 87 will fit into the stock carrier of a 86. also, I don't believe a-arms interchange. Let me know if what I have said is true and please supply some more info if you have any.
I also know that the front wheels will exchange but the rears will not, however some hubs will swap. Plastics are pretty much the same and the seats will swap.
Thanks

Im not planning on doing much interchanging, but when I am looking at parts on Ebay, and they say (for example) that an axel will fit the 86 and 87, I want to know if they are right or dont have a clue. This thread is mainly for curiosity and knowledge. How about this, does anyone know if the axels can be swapped from 86 to 87. Not too many aftermarket stuff on Ebay for 86 but a lot for 87 and later

I don't know if the axle will fit into the carrier or not, but the hubs will not interchange. The 5 stud hubs have a differnet size spline than the 4 stud hubs, which leads me to believe that the axles will not interchange.

I have heard that some hubs do interchange. It seems like the 87 splines are the same as the 85/86. Do you know they won't from experience?

I think that they will cause the 85-86 and 87-88 have 24splines while the 89+ has 26splines. So actually the 85-88axles are the same.

Because the hubs interchange doesn't neccasarily mean the axels are the same. The determining factor is if the carrier bearing area is the same diameter and width. It would be nice if the axels are the same. Be easier to get one for my 86.
Anybody have hands on experience with an axel swap
