Default z400 dune gearing + tires question ???

My dad has a z400 with yoshi pipe, K&N, jetted + no lid, and 1 tooth down on front sprocket. We have a set of 22x11x10 - 10 paddle edges in our garage. We put them on and are going to sandlake next weekend and are mostly doing treeshots. How will these tires perform do you think. Rob to much power?

I think that the combo of 22's and 10 paddle will be an overkill on the Z. It would take some serious horsepower to get those movin.

I run 20", 8-paddle buffed down Skat-Trak Edges, with no gearing changes. I ride with a Raptor and Banshees, and keep up just fine. I have tried 10-paddle and 6-paddle. 10 is a little much, and 6 isn't enough.

Recon - did you notice any over heating or it getting to hot running those 10 paddles. Im guessing its gonna make the motor work a little harder.

My fan comes on all the time when duneing (so I run 20-W50 oil)!! Hardly ever comes on during desert cross country or trail rides, even on hot days. Sorry, didn't have the 10's on long enough to make an informed comment. The 10's just don't have enough space between the paddles, to get a good handful of sand.

If you over 170# drop a tooth in the front in the front, and run 7 paddles. If you are smaller than that run 8's with a smaller front sprocket. I have tried many set ups and this pulls the best. Run Haulers too!

He has 21x10x8 8paddle haulers that he normally runs. He justwants to experiment and try something new and it cant hurt to try them out. I was just seeing what everyone thought of the 10 edges on it.
