Has anybody ever taken their 500 to FTZ Racing? They work on them but I don't know how well their engines perform or how reliable they are. I've heard of putting SEA DOO jug on. How good is that mod? Is it possible to get 700cc out of them with boring and stroking the engine?

Hey Half Liter (great name) I like your comments on tuning. Most people won't take the time to do a little research and understand the concept of what's being done and why to make a motor run. Once you have a little understanding, especially in the porting department, you can talk to engine builders and quickly establish whether they have any moxie or not. But the easy way out is "Hey man I got a stage 2 cam and a realllly big pipe!"

Ok here's a project for some crazy person. Do any of you guys remember a bike Suzuki made back in like 1984 called a RG500 Gamma. It had a liquidcooled V-4, 500cc, and just under 100Hp STOCK!! Take that engine and put it in a Zilla and you could still call it a 500. Anyone got enough *****? Bueller................Bueller.............?

The gamma has a square 4 engine as opposed to a V4. It has 2 crank shafts that are positioned parallel to one another and linked together by a gear train. It is the ultimate crotch rocket!!

It also has rotary valves instead of reeds.

ahhh, but it's worth the wait...

gnjeff is right... the doc is a wizard when it comes to LT500 mods, but you still need to know your stuff to follow his Rx.
