Default 3 changes on the 2004 Z400

Here's a quote from Suzuki's web site about 3 new changes to the 2004 Z400.....

NEW FEATURES

* New drive chain adjustment system for quicker drive chain adjustments ( Kawasaki's site says a new eccentric system)

* Two-piece rear sub-frame with detachable grab bar for easier maintenance

* New muffler for stronger exhaust sound

I didn't see anything on changes to the frame...maybe there will be changes like gussets but they didn't say.

If they said they made changes to the frame that would acknowledge they have a problem. You don't think they are going to do that do you? They are trying to sweep those issues under the rug like they never happened. They may in fact beef up the frame this year but it woln't be a bullited item.

I hope at least the first two items will be interchangable with the 2003s... The muffler changes are probably the pea-shooter mod! haha..

there is one other change if you want to call it that. It is now availble as a Cat. They now have their new sport machine on the web. Looks sweet. Removable front fenders too instead of cutting them off. I have always been a Suzuki/AC fan (even though I ride a Bomber). But I do have to admit that the looks of the new Cat sport machine gives any sport machine a run for it's $$$ in the looks department. Mechanically it sounds like it is identical to the Z/KFX.

I wonder what Suzuki has up their sleeve now. AC is getting the P-650 motor also. All this talk in the past of Suzuki not getting the twin from Kawi, but now I have to believe it will happen. A 650 in a Vinson chassis? I can only imagine the power wars heating up now.

Yeah, I'm sure they wouldn't announce that they had frame problems...probably just beef the news one up without saying anything about it.

Zuki better not get the 650 cause I want them to put an all 450 or bigbore as in an 800.
