I have had both and I perfer my Banshee any day in the woods. For all out torque I would take the Zilla. For overall reliablility I would have to take the Banshee hands down.
Stormnorm: I'm sorry but I never have to rev the Pi$$ out of my banshee when in the woods. The problem with the zilla in the woods is to much low torque if your not carefull it will take you for a ride in to a tree.
none4444: Banshee's are very nice but the Zilla is a very fun toy. I agree with the 250R being a good woods rig but don't care for the other 3. (2 strokes to many)

The Shee is a bit over 400 if im not mistaken.
As far as trails are concerned, the 500 would be the bike. Massive torque for climbing any hill with no running start,
80 MPH top speed in stock form.
Handling would probably go to the 500 also. Its very wide and very stable.

I disagree! The LT would make a better trail machine due to the low end torque the big bore produces.. The banshee is way too pipey for a trail machine, however, the LT is much heavier and bigger which is less than optimal for trail/woods riding... But I wouldn't trade mine for anything!

none444, you shouldn't be giving an opinion based upon what you 'hear'...

With the Banshee there are plenty of mods you can do to get low end torque if that is what you are looking for. Get a Trinity C.V Carb system and you will have all the low end grunt that you want and have a smaller bike to get in and out of tight spots. The Zilla is just to big IMO to ride in trails, it is an awesome bike trust me I miss mine but it has its faults like all bikes. I am just say the banshee with work can be what ever you want it to be

I have a 87 500, ride in the woods regulary. it sucks. it is to big (physical size), and is just to much power. as for the banshee, it is lighter, smaller (physical size), so would be the better choice of the 2. personally, if all i was doing was woods riding, i would make sure it was a 4 stroke.

Oh, stormnorm I know the top speeds you posted are correct because I've seen other people that had that magazine article but the rear wheel hp numbers don't seem. Does a predator really have 45hp stock, also I have a z and I wish it were about 30horses but your post says it has 32hp I always though it just had about 29hp just a little above a 400ex. I mean if your numbers are right that's cool but does anyone else know if this is right (which I don't think they all are) and does anyone have the actual numbers for these quads? If so would you please post them? Also I think a banshee has over 40hp in stock form and your post says 37. Once again you might have got this somewhere I just want to know if it's factual or not, thanks.

The banshee is the only twin 2 stroke atv. Plus it isn't the fastest twin in the world. Most 500cc+ snowmobiles crank out 100 horsepower +. Hell the Arctic Cat 900 twin cranks out 150 hp . But you are probably right about modifying it, open up any quad mag and there is pages of banshee parts/mods.
