On the air box lid removal, the best idea I've seen was in an online article called power for pennies. Just cut out the majority of the center of the air box lid and stretch speaker screen over it.

Is there such a thing as a high performance head for a z? Also, do you have to fly cut the head if you put in a big bore kit? Does anyone have info on the CT 453 kit, will it burn up in a year or what? I'm debating between it and the wiseco 440, all suggestions and testimonies welcome.

I have the Wiseco 440 and love it! Only, I would EXTREMELY suggest buying a new carb while doing the process. The reason I say this is because my friend and I have practically the same engines (440, cams, port &polish, same pipe, etc.) except he has his FCR carb on, and WOW, his demolishes mine. The stock carb chokes up ALOT of performance there is to be made with the 440. If I remember correctly, the CT kit comes with a new carb?? Well I say if you got the $$$ to do the CT, do it. Otherwise spend around $1100-1200 for the Wiseco kit, bore & installation from a trusted shop, and the FCR40mm carb.

I'm thinking 1)handlebars & grips 2)brake lever 3)axle since I've bent them all now. Next I'll get nerf's since I broke the plastic heel guard, too.

Everything but the brake lever I think was the same landing. Cased the dubs, but the frame survived.
