Default quadzilla, reliable?

is the quadzilla a very reliable machine? I know 2 strokes need more taking care of but is the quadzilla ok for everyday riding, like gravel roads and a small motorcross track. I have been told they aren't very reliable but I figured i'd ask all the suzuki heads just to clarify.

The upkeep on them is higher than a normal twostroke cause it's a bigbore. My brother has one and seems to be pretty reliable to him. Its just like with any two-stroke you have maintenance you should look at it everytime you ride it and especially before the long haul or if you ride hard at the track look at it everyday. In my opinion checking it over frequently and proper warm ups is the key to having a reliable Zilla.

Any other Zilla owners.........add you comments.

P.S. Where you from in Iowa?

Yeah I'm sure you've been to dragstrip. I have only been to it once!! I have a friend that runs a Red 70 something Mustang.

I like my 250 a lot. I like it more than my brothers 500. The biggest reasons I like it over the 500 are:
1. Its noticeably lighter in weight.
2. I like how the 250 revs quicker than the 500.
3. I just like the way it feels and jumps.

Reasons I like the 500
1. The front suspension isn't choppy like the 250 is
2. The lowend power is just UNBELIEVEABLE compared the 250

I've had less issues with my Zilla than some 4 stroke owners I know of, even some I ride with, simply because they fail to check their machines before and/or after they ride.

My point is the reliability issues on most bikes are a direct reflecton of the owner.

They have several reliability issues (You might want to search this site, as this has been discussed to great length)
Nothing that can't be overcome, but in stock form... they've got some design shortfalls.

Mine's reliable as a rock, but I've fixed all the bad things before they had a chance to fail.

Good luck

If you wanna know about everything thats wrong with it join the message boards at
Macdizzys website. DR Q in the Suzuki forum knows all about them.
