Is $1500 dollars a good deal for a 87 250r quadracer. it is only piped no other mods. how fast does it go and how many miles can you get on a tank of gas. Is it reliable? Please let me know

If its in good shape that’s a fair deal. It does around 70mph. I think my 91 would hang with a slow Banshee in a drag race but I have not yet found out for sure. The 87 has some differences in the motor from the 88-92 motors but I don’t know exactly. I do know that the compression, gears and bore/stroke are the same so it probably has similar power. No idea on gas mileage except that mine uses a lot of gas. Reliability is high for a 2 stroke.

That '87 has a bigger intake port than the later years, and a slightly different combustion chamber. It is still a power valve motor like the 88-up though. Mine is as reliable as a rock. Had it since May 1991 and it just keeps going....... You can also make them go pretty good too with porting and decent carb, pipe etc.
