I am trying to hook up a tether on a Z 400 that is racing tommorow and I need help fast!!!

 

hey stockbomb, i have a tether on my fzr600 and looks like there is just a white(common),and a black(hot) wire. so what you would want to do if your system is similar think of it like this. bare with me i could draw this out easier than typing but here goes.
this tether is basically like a switch, when pulled it kills the bike so all that you have to do is make your wire connections at a point before your switch on your left handlebar(off,run) so determine the hot going to the (off,run) switch and the common and make your splices. you don't really have to solder them just use some scotch33 and you should be fine. just hook one end to the hot wire on your coil and the other to a ground I grounded mine right beside the coil. all the tether does is ground the coil and shut down the bike
