Default lt250r...reliable?

I know that 2 strokes take alot of maintinence, but is this quad a half way reliable one? I know that many people drag race them and mx race them, but how are they on trails? hows the low end?

They are very reliable if in good shape to start. Low end is decent for a 250cc 2 stroke and can be made fairly impressive if you raise the compression just a little and go down a gear size on the front or get smaller tires.

Are they more for mx or are they an ok trails quad? Is power band real snappy or smooth? How loud are the compared to a cr 125?

There are not many quads better for woods riding and none that are 2 strokes. Power band is very smooth for a 2 stroke, nothing like a Banshee or Blaster. Noise depends on the exhaust. Mine has a FMF pipe and silencer, its probably similar in noise level to a CRF 125.

my lt250 has been actually very reliable for a 2 stroke and i always seem to be leaving most people behind in the trails, mine feels like it is at home in the trails we got here in massachusettes. i think if you get a good one you'll be a little surprised at how well rounded a quad it actually is.plus with a little work you can get them to beat alot of quads with bigger motors straight out on flats. good luck with finding the right quad for you.
