What would be the best engine mods for my lt-250 for under 500 bucks? Now I am pretty much evan with my neighbors stock kfx 400 untill I hit fith gear and I pull away allitle, but I want to be able to pull away from him in every gear.

I shaved the head on my 86 LT .020”. It made a lot of difference in low to mid range and would probably easily put you ahead.

Also, if your goal is to beat that particular quad, go back down to a 12 tooth front sprocket (assuming your tires are the same diameter as stock ones). You should top out faster than him even with the stock gearing and between that and shaving the head you will kill him off the line.

You can send off your cylinder and head for a porting/chamber job for under $500 and that'll get you the most for the money.
