Default My First ATV

Ok, I just bought a new Suzuki LT250 4wd, well new to me anyway. Its a 94. I've always wanted an ATV and now I got one. So now, I need some help if someone doesnt mind. It runs great. I start it up, and it idles good. but once I start riding it, alot of times when I come to a stop, it will stall out. Ive done an oil change. What other maintenance can I do to get this thing running solid. Also, how difficult is it to change brakes out yourself. The brakes are kind of bad, but Im in the middle of buying a house right now and would like to save some money. Thanks in advance for your help.

You might need to have the carb. cleaned. There are 2 jets, the main jet and slow jet. The slow jet delivers the gas to the engine while it is idle, and the main jet delivers gas to the engine when you are on the throttle. So I'm thinking the main jet might be plugged. Thats why it will idle with no problem, but when you start riding it stalls. It is fairly simple to clean the carb. but if you are worried about your mechanical skills any mechanic or ATV shop could do it for you.

I'll let somebody else handle that questiong for ya. I am not very good at explaining that sort of stuff. It is a easy procedure to do, just hard to explain, at least for me. Sorry.

Take the carb out. Spray it with carb cleaner. Take out the jets, hold it up to a light, and see if there is any deris blocking the hole. Even if you dont see any, you an air compresser and blow through the hole. You have nothing to lose doing this, maybe your jet if you dont hold on tight enough... You can also "boil out" the carb. I did this on my zilla. What you do is goto an auto store and then buy it. It looks like a pail of paint. It really is easy to use and did an unbelievable job on mine
