Default Help please

Hy i have a Susuki LT-F230 4x2 quad im wondering how the heck you get the back break drum off do u have to take out the axel? I took the black round caseing from the drum but the drumb itself doesnt just slide off the shaft sohow you do it can anyone explain thanks

I think the rear brake setup on on your 230 is about the same as my 160 from the sounds of things. It took us like 2 hours of messing to finally get the drum off. You can pull all you want and it wont come off until you get the snap rings inside the brake drum housing loose. I'm not sure how the 230 is setup, so I will let somebody else tell ya what to do to get the snaprings off, but I know for my 160 it involved losening the big nuts on the axle on the left side of the axle carrier, and then hitting the axle over to the left so the snap rings would come off. I just figured I would let you know that, so you don't spend alot of time trying to pull the dang thing off and then mess something up.
