If they put an FCR on the Z, Im quite sure it would have spanked the Yamaha... how could it not...

People, like Dirt Wheels, don't realize how bad the stock POS36mm carb is on the Z. I would like to see this....

Take the FCR39mm off of the YFZ450, put it on the Z. Take the Z's Mikuni 36mm and put that on the YFZ. Totally different ballgame...

How about this, dirtwheels team up with handgun magazine, you put a bullet through the yfz engine, then race. I bet the Z would win.

Hey Rockrider, where do you ride at?

I thank Yamaha for getting sport quads going again. I had 2 YZ dirtbikes lately and the motors were very good but every time you crashed the dang thing was tore up some where. My CR wasnt that way. I think Yamahas arent as tuff as the other bikes.

Yamahas have forever been a joke on the sx circuit. Look throughout the 80's and 90's, there has only been like two riders who actually did any good on yamaha. Larry Ward and Damon Bradshaw. But Honda on the other hand, Rick Johnson, Jeff Stanton, Jean-Michelle Baile and of course Jeremy McGrath. And as I recall, McGrath never dominated the sport like when he was on a Honda. He's ridden for every company now, I do believe. Not sure about Kawi, but still, he proved that in sx that Honda was the best.

I know his first bike was a kx80, but when he started riding pro it was on a Peak cr125. Then he went to a cr250. I have the cheesy documentary of his first season.

Ricky Charmichael is like the Alex Rodruigez of motocross... someone gets him started and he jumps to whoever offers him the most money.... Honda has a lot of money, they were tryin to get James Stewart too...

The YFZ has issues of its own... weak a arms (not for everyone, but a pro better ride flawlessly if he doesnt want a DNF by his name). Ive heard of some clutch issues too... cables breaking and clutch burning up before breakin is complete. The gears stick and/or dont wanna shift and even jump out of some gears. For a first year model, its killer, next year Im sure they tweaks will be worked out and will kick some serious @ss.
