Default Quadracer Lighting

I have a 1987 Quadracer 250R. The problem is the head light is very dim. As I understand it, the poblem is one of three things, the stator, the magneto rotor, or the regulator. The poblem is I really don't want to buy parts that I don't need. Can anyone give me the procedures and order that these parts need to be tested in, so I can find the faulty part. Thanks!

well, check ur lightbulb for number of watts, then refer to your book to see how many it should be. Then refer to your clymer manual to check any of the coils, the stator, cdi or anything else

I have the same problem on my lt I replaced the stator and it did not help so I think that I have to buy a new regulator.

Get a shop manual. You can test the stator and the voltage regulator using a mutimeter. The magneto is just a spinning magnet, it won't cause your lighting problem,

The stock stator has always been considered junk. I would reccomend getting a Ricky Stator one. Performance is way above the stock, and quality is second to none. I paid 125.00 for mine brand new compared to 278.00 for the stock!
