i think the z250 has more speed although in the 1 issue of DW it says the ex is faster..they said the ex hit a top speed of 51 and the z was slower. In another issue(when z250 came out) they said the z hit a top speed of 55. The z has stiffer suspension but you can preload it. i jump small jumps and i think it handles great. also the z has more suspension travel and better handling. as long as you dont ride sand a lot it will be fine.

I was stuck w/ the same debate over which to buy and went w/ the Z. More clearance, travel, and handles better according to the homework that I did, and believe me I did alot of homework on this bike. The EX seems to be getting a little dated too....? Just my 2 pennies.....

The Z in my opinion is a much nicer machine, I'm very happy with mine. Also, I wouldn't take everything Dirt Wheels says to be completely true in most cases. For a comprehensive comparison check out ATV Rider....they took a group of different style & skill set riders, riding in various conditions and had them rate the quad they preffered most. Guess who had the most #1 picks (Not all of them, but most)?.....that's right the Z250....nuff said.
