I was planning on running synthetic oil after my warranty ran out... 5 more months, the guys at the dealer said dont do it ebcause of the cluth and the clutch is a wet cluth so it uses the oil and that if i use sythetic it might slip... what do youguysdo?

I have read that there are advantages and disadvantages to both petrolium and synthetic oils. So, I run Honda HP4M Synthetic/Petrolium Blend with Moly. THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!! But, can't be used in an autoclutch bike.

Amsoil!! Had it it my 5sp Eiger for last 800 miles, no problems at all. The fan would run every once in a while during break in with dino oil in 40 deg weather. I left it sit for 45 min in 80 deg heat with Amsoil in it before the fan came on. I use Amsoil in everything.

Look for JASO MA rating on motorcycle specific synthetic oil to be sure it will work with the wet clutch. In general as of very recent, due to the latest automotive oil standards, automotive oil is not good for ATV/Motorcycle applications.
