Default is the Z400 comfortable?

I have always gotten to ride mine before I buy, if they wouldnt let me ride I would just go to another dealer until you find one who lets you.

jed250, I too dislike that the 400ex doesnt have reverse. If I had to choose one without reverse I would get a banshee, but since I want reverse I got the z400. What I would really like is a banshee with reverse.

jed250, I too like my z400. since you dont care about reverse have you looked at the raptor 440? Honda is also releasing a new 400 size sport quad. The raptor seemed to have quite a few nice parts on it but I didnt think it was worth the extra money. I dont know anything about the Honda. I currently am happiest with my Z.

The Z seat compared to a 400ex seat , hhhhhhhhhhmmmmm
Id say its like comparing a lazyboy(Z) to a bar stool (400ex)

Raptors are 660's and they have reverse & elec start. The new Honda TRX450R doesn't have reverse and is a kick start. Back to the Z400, they are an excellent, all around machine. Very comfortable, reliable, electirc start with reverse. Out of the box, sounds to me like the Z400 is the right quad for you. IMO it is a new-and-improved version of Honda's 400ex. You should be able to get a good deal on one too.
