If you want to go CC then I would recomend a diffrent tire than 589s.
I would get Big Horns or Holeshot ATRs.

Plus when you do start racing don't go too fast too soon. sit back and take it all in at first and slowly start to push it. If you go too fast right away, your going to end up in a accedent.

Ive Also Been Looking At The ITP Mudlites. Friend Has Some On Trailblazer 250 And They Grip Very Well. Good In Mud Also.

 

hole shot atr's are your best bet for racing, they are preety good in the mud from what iv read.

 

You will need a 581cc big bore kit, cam,spring and maybe some port and flow work.
