Z400 High Pitch Whine Noise

I just picked up an '04 z400 and after riding for a few hours I noticed a high pitched whine sound that goes on and then off for a little while. Is this normal?

Sounds like the fan might be turning on and off. It's electric and thermostatically controlled. Hope that's it.......

My 2003 Z400 did that also it is normal, I believe because since then i haven't had any problems. It was the fan on mine.

Hey, thanks alot. This is the best quad I've ever owned. I'm glad it's not broken.
