Default Z400 Jetting/Needle

A computerless friend of mine needs help. He is putting the Jet Kit in his 400 and is having a hard time trying to get two little phillips screws out to get at the needle to replace it with the one in the kit. Any suggestions other than a "real good" phillips screw driver or slightly taping the screw head ? Also is changing the needle "absolutely" necessary? Any and all proceedure steps for changing the needle will be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

You may need to slot the head with a Dremel or something else and use a flat head to get them out, some of them can be a bi!@#!!! Change them to a hex head or allen screw once you get them out, makes it alot easier next time!!
If he piped it and put a filter on he will have to change the needle or use washers on the stock one to get it right.

Hope this helps...........

Tell him to get an impact driver ( 13 bucks from auto part store). As far as the needle I just moved the top washer to the bottom and it is fine with a 170 main jet.
