Default z400 good for dunes?

Hi,
I am looking to purchase a quad, probably used, for mainly desert and dunes riding. Is the z400 a good all around quad for that type of riding? I am not going to race, at least for a few years. The other quad I am looking at is the raptor. Thanks for your advice!

i love my z in the sand, it is a rather high revving 4 stroke and does very well. The raptor would also be good but are kind of tippy. I would prefer a z over the rappy, simply because with a pipe on my z, i can beat a stock rappy up the hills(most of the time)

I got confused for a minute.
I have a the first 450R coming to my dealership. I guess its going to be mid January now. Damn it. I decided to get a new one, I have Selector to thank. I just can't get over the way Honda's handle, so I am waiting. Got the deposit in, got the rest in cash, got cash for a arms, axle, and pipe. I have the HRC kit ordered, and I am goign to bolt alot of my old stuff from the ex on her as well (nerfs, bars, levers, ect).
I want something fast that runs pump gas, has stock engine and leave it alone inside. I will add a cam and maybe a little port work, but thats it (for now...lol.)

Shady, you are probably right. At least thats what Brandy tells me......She is not happy I bought another new quad. I bought her a new Warrior in 2000, me a new 400ex in 2001, her a new Z400 in 2002, and now this, the water is hot.......

Hey, tell her you skipped the whole year of 2003 for quad buying. She should be thanking you.

I did!
That got me off the couch!
No I am just playing, she is cool, but was kind of upset for a while.
JCMPUNK,
My woman rides the Z400, as you can tell I have sold my 400ex, if the new 450's were not out, I would be buying a Z400. I ride it alot, I absloutly love it. You will too.
