Default VINSON JETTING -- HMF

I just put an HMF with quiet core on my Vinson. It will not idle now unless
fully choked and will die if i move the lever back to normal. Also dies
when I try to give it gas. My pilot Jet is a #65....... should i go richer with
this ? I dont know what my main jet size is or what came stock. Does anyone
know what was stock main on your Vinson ?

Thanks 581, found my problem.. it was the pilot... everyone swore
i did not have to change it, but i went up next step richer and that
did it. Man does this HMF flow ! Even with the quiet core its a bit
on the loud side but i am going to make my own endcap for it.
What brand of works shocks are you going to buy? Did u get
them yet? Please let me know. My Vinson runs much better
now with the HMF , DynoJet Kit, and K&N .... I can ride a wheelie
and it will throw roost even in 4wd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am getting works steelers dual rate with ars frount and rear they run 389 for frounts and 389 for rear.

you said you are going to make your own end cap. how are you going to do this and will it look like stock and if so would you be interested in makeing me one for a price? i run my pipe without the q-core and it is loud(around the yard this is a problem) but on the trails where i mostly ride there are no sound ordaneces.

I have a buddy that works as a machinist. When he gets time, he is going to make me one and yes
it will look like stock, probably straight out instead of turn down... I like that look better since the
Vinson pipe is horizontal. If it goes well, I may present the idea to HMF and market them to the company
itself. Hmf does not make their own end caps. To answer your question, yes, I could probably set you
up with and end cap. My end cap will have a smaller opening, resulting in a quieter exhaust tone and
a little more back pressure. I know my Vinson runs better with the core than without. Without, the
sound tends to drown out the speed feel if you know what i mean.

yea as far as noise i not happy about that, how much do you think the new end cap will be? and i am assumeing that we will have to go to like a 146 main, stock is 144 and i run a 142. and you probley run 140 if i am guessing?

I run a DynoJet Kit.... my main there is a 128 with quiet core.... but i also have a vented airbox
with K&N .... i would guess i am at a 144 main on a keihin jet. The cap will probably cost
about $40 I highly recommend u get the quiet core. The new end cap should not change
the main jet... but i wont know until i get it done
