ok my new motor for my 230 is installed and hooked up. it had sat for two years prior to me trying to start it. when it was put away it only had 10hrs on a rebuild motor, and was fogged properly. my question is i know it is getting gas and i know it is getting a spark(might need a new plug?) it look feable. and it is also getting air. it seems like it wants to start and then die? i do not understand why it is doing this it is very fustrateing. i know the coil and CDI are good, so why won't it start? i changed the oil and put a new filter in it and i thought just like a boat when fogged for the winter it will start right up? I need help please think of any problems i might be haveing or relate my problems to ones you guys have already had

 

is it a kick or electric start?

 

If the spark isn't a nice bright blue than you may have a defective cdi or a weak coil. I'd try a plug first, of course.

 

it elec. and i am goning to try a new plug, with the old plug the motor sounds like its wants to start, it will idle for 2sec and then die so i don't know if it is the spark plug becuase it's color is not a nice fat blue spark like on my vinson. oh and the plug has sat in a fogged motor for 2 years and the other plug i had sat in a non running engine in a garage for a year.
