Breaking In A Vinson.

Ok. After The First 20 Miles When I Do My 1st Oil Change (To Get Alum. Chips Out) Can I Use Synthetic Mobile 1 Oil? I Heard Its Alot Easier On The Engine. And I Was Also Told To Take It Easy For The First 3 Hours And Then Ride It Like I Normally Would. What Should I Do?

I'm not sure about the synthetic oil. I think i heard somewhare that you sould wait with synthetic till about 500 miles.
The manual says 10 hours. but nobody waits that long I probably went about 4 or 5.

Here's my .02. I babied my first Vinson; took it easy (half throttle) for the first 100 mi. Then I changed oil and used Mobil 1. On my second Vinson, I rode hard from the get go. Changed oil at 100 mi. and used Mobil 1. Those bikes are like night and day. The first is quieter, runs and accelerates smoother. The second is louder, and has more engine noise.
I recently changed the belts on both this past fall. The drive shaft for the drive pulley is looser in the one I rode hard right off the dealer floor. I can only guess it's contributing to the extra noise. The first one that I babied for the first 100 mi. is nice and tight.
Sooo, from my experience, I can only suggest you be patient, especially if you plan to keep the Vinson for a long time. Don't exceed half throttle for the first 100 mi. Then change oil and filter. I've been using Mobil 1 and it's been great.
BTW, the service manual recommends the belt be changed at around 2000 mi. Neither of mine needed it. I would pull the transmision cover and inspect them for sure. I went ahead and changed mine because I already had the belts. If you do decide to ever change the belt, borrow the special tool from your dealer so you can loosen the pulley bolts easily.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Mark. I Have A Question For You. After The First 100 Miles Did You Change The Oil For The First Time. Was The Oil The Dealer Put In It A Non-Synthetic? I Plan To Change The Oil After The 1ST 20 Miles To Get Rid Of Any Extra Crap Then Switching To A Non-Synthetic Oil At The 500 Mile Stage. What Do You Think? Thanks

My first oil change on both bikes was at 100 mi. I don't know for sure about the oil the dealer had in it. Dealers may put whatever oil they have handy, it was probably bulk 10W30. You could ask your dealer what he puts in them when he sets them up.
Have fun on your new bike.

I run Valvoline ATV oil in my Vinson, and a Wix filter....... Mobil 1 is not designed for wet clutch
applications found in atvs and dirt bikes. I recommend Valvoline ATV oil. You can get it at
Auto Zone and its much cheaper than Mobil 1 ... I am not knocking Mobil 1, as i do run it
in my Chevy truck...... You can change the oil in your Vinson as often as u would like. I go
by the color through the site glass. If it looks black or dark , change it . Do not buy Suzuki
brand filters!!!!!!!!! They are $16 a piece. The Wix filter is only $7
