My neighbor is selling his Suzuki lt250 he says it is a 78 but I think it is newer than that. It is orange, fornt and rear racks,it has reverse and looks like 2 differant chokes on the top with electric start. He is asking 500.00 Under the seat all it says is LT250 I cannot find where I can find out what year it is.
Any Help would be nice.

Also it is aircooled and has a headlight and taillight with a trailer hitch.

Try looking for the VIN on the frame. Usually there will be a date of manufacture, model, and the VIN on a metal tag riveted to the frame.
'78 sounds to early to me, but then again, I was barely in school at that time.

 

I looked all over the frame short of taking the fenders off but couldn't find the tag

 

Does it have suspension front and rear? 2 or 4 wheel drive? more than one "range" on the tranny(could be 5,10,or 15 forward speeds) Also, where are these 'chokes' and is there any speedo/tripmeter/idiot lights?

 

I know it has front springs the back im not sure. It is a 2 wheel drive. The chokes are right up front the key switch is in between both of them. I did see something below them that looked like an odometer and a couple idoit lights. I have no idea abouthe tranny

If the gas tank is under the rear fender it is a 85 or 86.

Sounds more and more like a mid 80's model. I'm thinking one of those 'chokes' is for reverse and the other is to put
the tranny in low range.

 

Is there a way to use the VIN # to find out what year it is?
