maintenance is almost the same exept you may need a top end rebuild sooner and you have to mix your gas. You can go along time without a top end rebuild if you properly jet and lube your motor. On both you have to change plugs, clean air filter ,grease fittings, and change gear oil, etc. In my opinion having a 2-stroke can be good because they are so easy to work on, and you can do most the work yourself and save 40-50 bucs an hour. If you happen to blow your motor, my 250r cost like 40 bucs to bore and new piston costs like 90 and 20 in gaskets. See how much a blown 4-stroke will cost!

Hey there, can help yah out with just what yah need! The local shop here has a video out that goes through all the maintaining of 2 stroke machines and one for 4 strokes as well! I think the demo is with a bike but would have all the same principles. Think the videos are not very much! Mention my name for a discount! You can reach them at Country Cycle at 1-800-890-1570 and open at 9am central time zone! Wont be dissapointed! $20.00 buks for a video cheaper than a blown 2 stroke motor trust me, just my 2 cents
