LT250R questions
#1
Hey all,
This summer Im going to be looking for a quad racer (I think) But first I have a few questions. For suspension, how does it work? Those front a-arms seem a little small...travel numbers? The back is also another concern in the suspension department. I want a 87 or later for the power-valves. I hear theres a big problem with spinning.. which of course is fun, but not always called for....any fixes? Im sure Razr 2's would be a small cure. I do trail-riding high and low speed and just plain blasting through fields. Any mods I should really look into, I was thinking about an aftermarket swing-arm with a new chain tensioner design. Any input would be great. Thanks

If you get a set of Fast Trekkers you’ll have no tire spinning problems. When I got mine it had half wore out turf tamers in the dirt or grass I could pin it in 3rd from a standstill and spin out like a dragster. With the fast Trekkers It’s the exact opposite if I dump the Clutch without leaning on the bars it'll throw me on my a$$.

The 91 that is. The 86 has turf tamers. It'll spin them in second but not like the 91. I busted my a$$ doing that on the 91. It started to slide sideways as it began to move. Real slicklike I let go of the throttle instead of just riding it out and sliding around. When the tires stopped spinning I was moving sideways caught traction and hit the dirt.

Thanks for the info Tom, different quads work good with different tires, and Id never suspected the fast trekkers.... I was wondering about how much difference that power-vavle make? how the whole suspension works, thats a big deal where I ride, gets really bumpy. Again any input is great...thanks
