Z-250 definantly... i mean it was even made to take out the 250 ex.. and it sure does.. the only thing that ex is better at.. is that its easier to shift than the z 250, but its not a big difference at all! I mean if you really care about sound ( which some pl do).. z- 250 doesnt sound all that great... but neither does the ex. I used to own a 250 ex for 2 years.. i saw the new z-250 and was amazed at the power difference and better handling. another thing that sold me about the z-250 was the 9 inch ground clearance ... wow... thats alot for a smaller sport atv thats not 4x4.. where i ride ground clearance is a must if you do not have 4x4. OOOOoooo wait another thing that the ex beats the z-250 at is that z-250 has like no aftermarket parts they have a few.. but not as much as ex. if you do not plan on soupin up your atv dont worry bout it. ex has been out longer n e ways.. dont listen to ppl when they say the ex is more reliable because its been out longer.. yeah w/e z-250 was made with a ozark engine.. they been building the ozark for years.. they have all the flaws covered already.. its a comfotable ride.. great jumping machine.... just think i am 6'1 200 pounds riding a z-250.. i feel perfectly comfortable on one! go with the Z.. more power... more ground clearance... beter looking.... slightly faster.. better overall machine.... honda is overrated n e ways.. who would want to buy an ATV from the manufacturer that made the ugly *** HONDA ELEMENT!

yes the z has mods but not nearly as much as the ex.... the only z mods i have heard of so far was the yoshimura pipe.. alien exhaust..... and few items for the exterior such as nerf bars.. or skid plates
