I was wondering how many miles some of you King Quad owners get per tank.

I have had my King Quad for about 3 months now. I have noticed that I only get about 20-25 miles per tank.

I was wondering if maybe there was something wrong. It just seems like I should be getting more miles out of it. I called the dealer about it and they said that is about right.

I don't know if they are bull s***ing me or not.

Alot of it depends on what terrain you ride in,but for normal trail riding,my bro does about 55-60mpg per tankful on his 97 KQ.No matter what type of terrain your in,you should be doing better than 20-25 mpg.

I rode the Tour de Forest and hit reserve at about 75 miles. Keep in mind though that this was high range two wheel drive, cruising about 30-35 mph. Upon fill up at about 92 miles it only took 3 gallons which give me bout 30 mpg.

Riding at Cochranton I averaged about 20 mpg, this was a lot more stop and go with lots of fun hills.

If you are interested in some modifications to improve the King, email me and I will go into further detail on them. I don't want to keep boring everyone with them.

I just bought a King Quad three weeks ago and have gotten close to what you are getting for fuel use. But...I haven't yet had the opportunity to do lots of riding in two wheel drive at around 30 miles per hour.

Most of my riding has been in low range with lots of speeding up and slowing down. I'm sure I could expect better if I rode more in high range and 2wd.

I love my King Quad though!

I just finished riding the "Steve Thompson Trail System" in North Carolina. It requires a lot of gear changing, with a whole lot of driving in Low Range and Four Wheel Drive, some in Differential Lock. There were a lot of rough, steep inclines and mud holes. My mileage was similar to that of RJMLakota, but maybe a little bit better, more like 13-14 mpg.

Just got back from the Sandy Ridge Trails (middle NC). There was a lot of 4x4 driving in low range. I averaged 17.8 mpg.

Rjmlakota, recommend you check the dump tube on your carburetor, insuring your float valve seals correctly.

Some discharge is normal; however, a little bit of trash between the valve and its seat can waste lots of gasoline.

Good luck!

P.S. Eric didn't tell you; he popped his reserve at the Tour de Forest because: HE GAVE HIS SPARE GAS CAN TO A STRANGER, A STRANDED ATVer ON THE TRAIL!

Anyone who knows Eric understands; he's that kind of guy.

Just got back from Wayehuta (western NC). Mostly 4X2 riding in low gear, with lots of 3rd and 4th gear shifts. Averaged 20.4 mpg.

Rode Tasker's Gap (Northern Va) over the weekend on my 00 King Quad 300. Mostly 2 wheel drive in low range (3-4 gear), but some 4 wheel drive (not much), as well as some high range. Didn't get an accurate measurement of gallons used, but it was about 4 1/2 gallons over about 90 miles of traveling (approx 20 mpg).
