wheel spacers, or t-9 offset wheel? or stock
#1
I have a z-250 and want to make it more stable. i know they make some good spacers for the rear, but i dont want to use spacers in the front so i could flip them. my question is, should i go with 2" spacers per side or t-9 wheels with 1" offset per side. no matter what i do, how would it handle if i left the front stock and just changed the rear. if i go with t-9 wheels i'm looking at either maxxis razr 6 ply or holeshot xcr what do you guys think i should do

You don't want to get the back to wide, without widening the front too. If you go with wheel spacers, the bike will be +4" front and back, which is kind of wide for the little Z.
If you go t-9 front AND back, you will be +2" in back and +2" in front. Wide enough for some stability, but not so wide you can't still trail ride. Add in some Holeshot tires, and you will be another inch more wide in back.

the spacers add 2" per side but i am not going to use them in the front only in the rear, so if i used the spacers i would gain 4" total in the rear. Now, if i use t-9 wheels the offset is 1"wider per side which gives me 2"total in the rear the holeshots are 20 x 11 x 9 and the stocks are 20 x 10 x 9 so i would gain some width from the tires alone so with the t-9 wheels and holeshots i might gain 3 " total verses 4" with the spacers alone. as for the front they dont make a .190 wheel in a wider offsetso my only choice is to run stock, flip the front or go with .160 .. thats why i was wondering if i just made the rear wider how it would handle.

Actually, the t-9 fronts will make the bike 2" wider (at least with Holeshot tires), even though ITP doesn't claim any more offset than stock.
If you widen the back without widening the front, you will get a kind of wheelbarrow effect. Racers will always try to "square the bike up".

You won't be able to flip the stock front tires b/c the valve stems hit the brakes. And I don't think your going to want to widen it out more than 4 inches total. Otherwise you might have a problem fitting through the trails.

well i think i'll probally go with the t-9 and holeshots .....or razr , i cant make up my mind on the tires. That should help the stability and not widing it to much at the same time. after all the 400 is wider stock than the 250 "right" and that handles the trails good so i think i'll be ok. anyone else have input please speak up..... and help me decide on these 2 brands of tires....please

I have a lt250r and I'm running 1" spacers in front with Works dual Rate and 2+2 Durablue axle in back and it really squares the bike up.Have some +2 A-Arms coming this week so I really can push the front end.
By the way has anybody heard good/bad things on the Burguard +2 A-Arms?
