Fastest on mine = 46 MPH. My brother claims to have hit 52 on his on hard pack sand. That's according to the KQ speedo which some mag. tests say reads a few MPH too high.

More accurate question would be - How slow is a KQ? LOL.

46 mph That's what ours did before the rev-limiter kicked in.

My bro's 97 KQ does about 45mph with the wind at his back and it takes a real long time to acheive that speed after you reach 35mph.====Bill

Couldn't agree with you more Bob. My KQ '99 surprised me last month. When the other guys I was riding with took off like there was a fire comin', I thought they were crazy 'cause I've got the GPS and they didn't. When I finally caught up to them, they were trying to figure out how to get around a fallen tree, without wrecking the enviorment. I seized my opertunity and took another trail back to the camp site. On the way, I looked down at the GPS and the speed indicator said I was doing 52 MPH. Now, that, you can dipute if you like but I'm here to tell you, I slowed down to about 40-45 on flat road 'cause I don't feel the need for speed. Oh! Yep, I beat 'em back too...

i had mine up to a touch over 50 this weekend on a hard packed dirt road. as soon as you hit any kind of an incline it feels like you arr on the brakes though. decent speed, very little top end power

The speed thing on these 4x4 quads are not a real big issue to me.That is,unless there is a faster 4x4 in my riding group.Than I'd be forced to make some changes and modifications, until than,im staying mostly stock.

Think about this for a moment? How often do our 4x4 quads really see speeds in excess of 25 or 30mph except in the bed of our pickups? Not very much where I ride.So as long as the Xplorer will do 30mph,im thinking I'll leave the rest of the throttle in case Ecoreman gets cocky with me on the trail.Than I'll have to kick in my NOX.LOL lol lol===Bill
