what is the largest bore that a lt230 can have, right now it is bored .50 over i found out, i need to get it bored again, i see weisco piston kits in the following sizes. .20no good. .50 same. 1.00 over i think this is what i need, and it also increases displacement to 236 from 229. then there is 1.50 and 2.00 over i do not want to go that big, correct? in case i ever need to bore again.

when i take it to the shop to have it bored, i think i will order the 1.00 over piston first correct?, and then bring it to the shop to have it bore, and cleaned up. ? . after it is bored does it need to be honed. i am trying to get all the infro i can so i can do a one stop shop thing, not buy something and damn it does not work , and i am outta luck

one more ?. the wiesco piston i have now in the motor, that is bad says on it .50mm, does that meen .50 over? if so then i guess i will hve to go to 1.00 over since that is all i can find. This site has all pistons

how come this site has all the way up to 2.00 over then kinda big to me, i there somplace i can get a .60 over piston? right now my piston says .50mm that means .50over correct.

You are dropping an important zero with your measurements: .020, .040, etc. are thousandths of an inch. Your piston is marked .50 millemeters (which is .020").

If you are boring for reasons other than damage, a .040 should be fine. If you have damage or excessive wear, I would have your shop pre-bore so you know for sure what oversize piston will
be needed.

Again, if you are boring for reasons OTHER than cylinder bore damage, the 40 over will probably be fine--buy the piston. If you have damage or excessive wear to the bore and you buy a new 40 over piston but it ends up that you need a 60 over to clean it up--then what? We are simply suggesting if you have damage to the cylinder wall or you think you have excessive wear, that you find out for sure what size piston you need before you make the purchase.

And yes, piston first--then bore and hone.

ok thank you, the sleeve looks to be in ok shape, so a overbore again will do the trick, and i know the valves are good.
