LT250R tips
#1
I just picked up a '92 LT 250 and had a few questions. The bike I bought already has Ohlins shocks front and rear, but it is sprung for a rider that is 75 lbs heavier than myself. What spring rates would be recomended for a 175# rider? I have heard that the LT's are known for being a bit unreliable, what specific things should I look out for? What brand a-arm setup etc will be the best to fix the inherent bump steer issues? That may not really be that big a deal since it will be mostly ridden in the dunes anyway. What nerf bars will offer the most protection? I am going to this after having ridden MX bikes (two wheeled varity) for most of my life, and still try to stick my foot out like a dumbass in the corners. I want the most coverage you can get in a nerf bar so I don't braek my foot when I suck it under the tire. I would like to have a set that go all the way up to the bottom of the rear fenders if at all possible. Well sorry for all the newbie questions at once, just trying to figure out which way to go from here. I'll post some pics up as soon as I get it all re-assembled.

Pro Armor makes a killer nerf bar with an integrated heel gaurd but they don't make it for the LT. Maybe you can make it fit. If not, you can pick up a set of stock heel gaurds on ebay and use standard nerfs.

I have seen the pro armor stuff, but I think I read you have to lower the pegs to make it work....I am not the tallest person in the world, and I don't really want to lower the pegs any. I may just get a set of DG nerfs, and fab up my own heel guards.

Hey jfisher304 go to HSD RACING and email/ask Mark about some tips for the LT's. I believe IMO he's the best guy to go to for Quadracer chassis mods and parts.
hope this helps
