ok...well i was cleanin up the old Quadracer today...and i remebered i had not written down the numbers on the frame and engine yet incase it was stolen. Well...I saw the little sticker and it said LT250RJ. I started to remeber on looking on a parts microfiche that the 87's were H. I was really curious, because i had always thought it was an 87 since it was listed in the paper as an 87. Well, i went to ronnies and found that the 87's were an H and the 88's were a J. I knew the bolts on the reed valves were different, and found that i do have an 88. I thought this was kind of funny. But anyways...i heard the 87's had the most potential for power because of the bigger intakes; is this true? Im happy that its an 88 because they seem to be that little bit easier to find parts for. Well...just thought i would share my findings with you...now i need to change my signature..haha

Well, 87's had a larger reedcage area, and also 2 conventional intake ports with a bridge between them. Nor sure whether the exhaust or transfer port openings were different, but was definitely a more capable design. The wider reedcage made for weak spots where the rear 2 base nuts fastened. The same problem occured on the LT500's in 87.
