As an Eiger owner, I follow most posts about this bike. I've not heard of any Eiger frame problems and certainly have not had any with my own ride.

I own a '03 Suzuki Eiger which I am very happy with. I have had my machine over some very poor terrain, stuck in more than one mud hold, bottomed it out, and so on... I have never had any problems, except it seems to get stuck real easy, you get one wheel slipping, and the rest just don't wanna help. I even crashed it into a rock, at a slow speed, no problems whatsoever.

i know its my wolverine isnt known for frame weakness but on the topic of banging around, ive hit rocks at high speeds, i ride mine up onto tree stumps so it teeters and no wheels touch the ground. I ride it through holes as deep as they get and when i wanna go reguarless of how bumpy it is i just hammer that throttle and hold on for dear life. i have beat the hell out of that quad and it still works like a charm. just have one of the outer CV joint bearings go but thats it so easy fix not bad for a 2001 that has been ridden every season since new and lots of water riding. my frame is as strait and true as the day i bought it. most quads can take a lot of punishment before you go cracking or bending frames

I want to thank everyone who has responded so far.
Very thoughtful comments, and I appreciate it.

I say again, I have nothing against Suzuki and like what I see. I hope you will
forgive me for being a bit concerned about this issue because in Canada, these
machines go for the better part of $10K.

You guys seem to be having a lot less trouble than the folks over at www.atvnation.com.
They seem to have, for example, Vinsons cracking in multiple places:

I guess it's rider abuse.

they're probobly not riding them for what theye're suppose to be, you cant really jump a vinsion like you can jump a z400, or they are not maintaning them well enough as they should. i never heard of any body having any problems with suzuki, unless the minor frame problems on the z400.

Does anybody really know any hard facts on this subject. Has suzuki even acknowledged they ever had a frame problem? I was watching the powerline park gncc on speedvision and saw William Yokley's z400 go out of the race from what looked like the whole rear subframe failure. I can also remember a desert race a few months ago where one of the leaders lost a lot of time because his seat assembly kept falling off when he came into the rough stuff. This type of racing is not as abusive as mx so whats the deal. I get
asked all the time for recomendations on what type of sport quad to buy and would like to see some evidence .

Really its not about the company but the bike itself. All companies have their good and bad. you really need to look at each individual bike for what it is against the other choices. all the companies have made winners and loosers. the only thing a company can be known for is it's customer service and consistancy or ratio of good to bad models and thats all opinion.
