Yes, that is correct. Suzuki says to run 20:1. Although, you will hear many different opinions on this one.

yea i have school, im a senior. Im having the local bike place take a look at it for me before i go to ride it far. It seems pretty good but there are a few things not as i knew. the seat has nothing holding it on in the front. the plastic is in a little bit rougher shape than I thought and there apears to be a weld in the frame he didnt tell me about. Other than that it looks structurally sound. as for the engine he never replaceed the bolt on the case he was supposed to and there were metal shavings around the edge so thats not a good sign. there is also a black residue on the header it looks like dried oil but it doesnt smell like it. its almost like tar on your fingers. Ill have my buddy take a look at it and hopefully get the OK on the engine.

Use Amsoil 2000 at 32 to 1 . I run it about 40 to 1 and it works great for me. Suzuki says run 20-1 in their old 1987-90 service manual. Mix oil these days perform much better.

I agree Zig!!
CTATV: That oily/tar stuff you mentioned is probably residue from running it at 20:1 with old dino oil...
Which was fine back in the day... put good oil in it.... and you'll thank us later.

Oh, congrats on getting your hands on one of these beautiful antiques!!! You'll love it!

I also agree with ZigZilla, but if you find the price a bit high for amsoil(it is the best by the way), you can use bel-ray MC1(also a very good oil) at 40:1
You are supposed to run it at 50:1 according to bel-ray, But a little extra oil in the gas won't do any harm.

alright!!! i love my zilla. i rwas running mine at 50:1 with the bel-ray, but found amsoil was cheaper and heard good things. so i am currntly running amsoil 2000 at 50:1 w/no problems. now if i can just afford a new carb. so mine will run right.......
enjoy it man, and hope to see you out there sometime
