any body done this before, i just checked out the carb boot it is almost exsactly the same OD. and the carb so should i just make a coupling out of radiator hose or something ? and how come there is no idle screw on the 38mm mikuni carbs, do u just adjust it from the throttle cable?

I tried a quadzilla carb once. On my 86 I was able to turn the boot around and it worked, but since you have a 89, you boot is fixed. You can try letting your boot sit in the sun to warm up and get flexible. It may then fit. Also, if the carb that you got has no idle adjustment, then it is broken, because they have a idle screw.

i dont knw maybe its not a zilla carb, but it is almost the same as my 34mm stock carb only its 38mm. but there really is no idle screw not even a spot there. whats up with that ill post a pic so u can see. even on the inside of the carb theres no hole for the idle screw it is really weird.

Ditch the airbox and get a clamp on k&n filter that fits your bigger carb.
