quick question, will a lt230s kicker motor fit in a lt230e electric start frame. they are both chain drive, and i was wondering if it would work, i mainly want a manual clutch and kicker start. thanks

i dont know but ill tell you one thing mine is impossible to kick start!(30-40 kicks before it sputters) but i love the manual clutch i just get pulled behind a car pop the clutch and pull wheelies all day.

I think its hard to kick start because it isnt getting enough gas in the carb. I changed the plug and it has good compression. Would putting a primer ball on the fuel line like on an outboard motor work to get gas to the carb?

Is there any special technique this is my first veichle with kick start?

Don't race him in a straight line, he will get you for sure. In the woods if you are a better rider you will gain some ground. You bike won't kickstart, probably because of a clogged starter circuit in the carb. I'd get a manual and a $25 carb kit.
Vinson581, a kickstart motor will work in the 230e frame, granted they are the same generation 230. The early ones used a mounting plate between the motor and the frame, while the later ones used a long bolt through a welded busing in the frame. You will also need to remove the tool pocket on the right wide, and take out the metal bracket(this is where the kicker folds into)You will also need to work out some kind of clutch cable mount near the right side of the motor, as the 230e frames didn't have them. The wiring harnesses aren't exactly the same either.

my 230 is for sale, i really dont want it, if i could give it away i would, i would like at least a little something. i paid 300 for it, put 200 into a new motor, and have a spare motor less topend.
i was out driving it and it smokes, needs the rings, and overbore, i thought i was gonna do this, so disregard my sig. then when i was out riding the tranny will not shift into first i am tired of this thing and am just screwin it all togeather, i am gonna keep the vinny, and save up for a z-250, if any one wants it pm, or e-mail me at lilhanzyboy1@aol.com i am just pist and want to put myself outta my misery. oh yea
the clutch is all good, like i said i was ridin it and then it would not shift. it had oil in it so no seize, it still goes in reverse, the other motor has a great bottom end ie tranny. i can look at it if you want and do the tranny, but i really just want the bike to be up out. i guess i can ship it, or pick-up is prefurred.
even pm me a redicolus offer, i proley will take it just to get it outta my hair. the only part it needs is 1 new rim. i have ridden it and it drives fine, but trans problem, and the smoke, i know it needs .040 overbore, and weisco piston. if you want i have a brand new la sleeve, and weisco piston std bore, if i can get a certain price for it.
