studded stock tires?
#1
I was planning on buying some new tires for the summer so i was going to keep my stock tires and stud them for the winter. do i just use roofing screws? roughly how many in each tire? i don't know if there is an easy or hard way, never done it.

The stock Z tires won't hold studs. Too soft of rubber compound.
You'd be better off buying cheap new tires with a hard rubber compound to stud (I chose Nankang holeshot knockoffs for rear, and bandits for the front) or putting sled studs in the stockers. A couple of my riding friends have done the latter and there's no beating the traction. Of course, once there's snow covering the ice, they don't help much, and if you have to ride on the road it's a little weird..
