Just bought an '03 Z400. It has a full Yosh pipe but stock air filter. When I put on a K&N, will I need to jet the carb, or will stock jet be okay? I am not a racer or crazy-man, just need power for the dunes.

If I should jet, does anyone have a link to a relatively inexpensive (Yeah right) K&N filter/jet kit?

you need to re adjust your carb to let the higher air flow in from the k&n and depending on how old your quad is you might need jetts with a piepe as soon as 15 hours are on i would re jett for the first time

yes, you will have to rejet, rockymountainatv.com has a k&n jet kit for around 45 bucks plus s/h. if you dont rejet, you may find your quad not utilizing the power it could be had it be jetted properly.

 

You should rejet..with your new pipe more air is coming in, but the same amount of gas. Your z400 will do MUCH better with a jet kit, and its not that hard to do either.

I wouldnt bother with a jet kit, just go buy the next 3 sizes, but skip the very next two up from the stock that you got. $14 vs $45
