If the Z400 can hang with the YFZ450....
What can we expect with the new Quadracer 450 that is sure to follow the 400Z?
I think Suzuki will mate the best features of the 450R with the YFZ while retaining the Z400. The Z400 will be the all around great quad that it is, while a 450 racer will be aimed at the new 450 quads. Just like the Quadzilla(which killed everything in it's path).
Suzuki has been a leader in racing and now is no time to hold back.
We can expect an all new 450 machine, since Suzuki does not produce a 450 engine currently(like Yami and Honda). I'm sure it will be EFI, as the new utility bike is.
Picture it, a 450cc machine with EFI and handeling like the Z400. It might even have stock Yoshi parts.
The Suzuki 450 is coming, it's just a matter of when and where.

If the Z400 can hang with the YFZ450....
In the article about Doug Gust in the new Dirt Wheels he talks about the new '05 Z400 and how they need to release it early to keep up with the competition.....So I think we may be looking at a new and improved Z right away, as well as a 450 next year ('06 model, year and a half away, based on the new 450 mx bike) Go ZUKI!!
Interesting note,,, the annual dealer show is being moved up from September to June.....So models will be available earlier in the year. Dirtbikes got to New Mexico in November this year,,,,thanks a lot. SO next year I think we will see new models hitting the showrooms mid to late summer, when they can sell.
Now how about some new minis?

this atvconnection comparison is all about money just like dirtwheels. dont let it go to your head.
your going to tell me Z400 suspension compares to the YFZ suspension? BS
your also going to tell me the Z400 isn't that slower than a YFZ set up for racing? BS
notice how they try to say good things about each of them..they sure dont want to lose any sponsers or burn themselves from future sponsers.

Out on the trail, I would say the Z is more than a match for the YFZ. Way more comfortable ride, and on the trail, all that extra horsepower and high revving engie are just wasted.
In open country or the dunes, where you can ride at speed, the advantage has to go to the YFZ.

People just cant see past a Dino chart sometimes....Went out with some friends for some woods riding. (3 sheesw mods/1 YZF450w mods./3 Z400s) I have the slowest bike (the only stock Z400) In the woods only one other Z400 could hang with me. On the street, The 450 left us by 4th gear and gave the shees a run for the money.
