New guy needs help witha smoking LT 250R
#1
Hello,
Jutst signed up, Just wanted to say; you all have been a great wealth of info. Hopefully you can help me. I picked up a 1987 LT250R that was in poor shape, Smoked like I have never seen a bike smoke, replaced bearings, bushings, breaks, etc. I had the top end re-sleeved and with a LA sleeve, and weisco piston of stock bore. head gasket repolaced and all assoc. gaskets, pulled clutch cover off and replaced crank seal on that side only, as my thought was that it was sucking oil from the wet side. after it was all put back together, I started it up and it smoked, I took it for a rip, after letting it break in, and appeared to be clearing up, with occasional blue if I was sitting for a minute, when wide open in 5th gear, I thought the throttle was stickiing open because It woulsd stay wide open, but I learned this could be because it is running lean, Help!!!!! After market pipe and fmf muffler.
Thanks

I pulled the main jet out, it has the #430 on it, The only nomber on the carb is T6 Y2 and below it is 43B, I know nothing about the Mikuni carb, does any on know what those numbers stand for, I am starting to think it is a bigger carb.
