i have an 86/7 lt250 and i was wondering if an lt500r jug would be a good idea for a nasty trail and drag race machine. and if there are any problems and difficulties let me know. i also would like to know if i had to do anything with gears and drilling holes anywhere and also carb things

 

No, its twice the size. You'll have to modify ALOT to even get close. Now a 500 engine in a 250 frame sounds like a better idea to me.

 

thax i was just wondering if it could work. but i really think ill try to look for a lt500r engine then so if u know were i can get one in exelent shape and will turn over in one or two kicks i might pay a pretty penny [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

No...the jug will not fit to much machining requiered....but yes the motor swap is the way to go I put a KX500 motor on my 87" tecate4 WOW that thing rippsssssssss...even more now that it's been modded

 

........So i will be able to use a dirt bike engine on it. what about the pipe would i have to custumize one

 

yes....you can use a bike motor even though the bike motor has no counter balancer it nothing that a anti-vibe steering stem won't take care of....I had to have a pipe made but not real sure how the LT's frame is set up ....good luck
