Unless you do some serious mods, the zilla engine may not be the most reliable. It can be made reliable, but its certainly not free. I'd consider this point as well. Even if you dont fix its shortcomings its still gonna fly. Youll just need to care for and love it like a small dog.

The Zilla motor will work just fine, one of my first Drag quad was a lt250 frame with a Zilla engine in it and it worked good and was reliable.

Since I have a LT250 and LT500 I've thought about an engine swap but decided it's not worth it unless you are building a drag racer. A LT500 wieghs around 70lbs more than the LT250 and 30 of it is in the motor. It would be a whole lot of work to save 40lbs. If I was going to do it I would go with the CR500. I've heard all about broke frames and vibration but frames can be reinforced and for the extra available power the CR500 has over the LT500 motor it would be worth the vibration in the handle bars. The LT500 might be easier on the rider but If I go through all the work to bolt in a 500cc motor in a LT250 Im not building it for girls to ride and don't expect it to be maintenance free. Just my veiwpoint though.
