could i put a six speed trans from a later year on my 85 lt250?


If so what would a price range be for a trans?

 

Not likely, my guess would be both mainshaft and countershaft would be longer to accomodate the sixth speed and likely not fit in the older cases. Guess you wouldn't know till youd tried, but you would certainly need a shift drum, the drive and driven sixth gears and some time and patience.
