cylinder on lt500
#1
Ive got a lt500 and one of the cylinders I run was sent to cpi in Utah. These guys go to extreme modifications on two stokes on my cylinder they shaved around 1/8 of an inch on the top of the cylinder they did this to change port timing so you have to run a rm500 piston in place, but it is hard to find these pistons. So what I was wondering if I could cut out a piece of aluminum to take up the gap and put it back to a lt500. help thanks.

if there prepared to butcher the jug in that way i would expect them to be able to supply a piston for it,
also i dont understand how cutting the top of the jug has altered the port timing, i think thats done by taking off at the bottom, tho im no tuning expert,

they did supply a piston with this product but that was several years ago. And where they shaved on the cylinder I think was on the top because comparing the the stock cylinder verses this one.

I dont know if your familiar with the st anthony dunes but there is a hill called choke cherry. The jug that isnt shaved will most of the time pull 4th gear out of it . The other jug I only had it over there once and time i was on my way over there I was running to lean on thunder hill and leaned it out it took my buddies banchee to pull start me and we ran over to choke and it pulled 3rd gear with 12 paddle haulers.
